About Trinity Music Academy

The Trinity Music Academy, based at Trinity School in Croydon, London is a distinguished music school that offers advanced musical training to passionate and dedicated students aged 8 to 18. Since its inception in September 2011, the Academy has been committed to not only producing students of exceptional proficiency but also nurturing them into well-rounded individuals who can lead and inspire in their chosen musical fields.

“The Trinity Music Academy exists to develop students into brilliant musicians, who will also become real individuals and therefore leaders in their chosen subjects.”

As Dr. Peter Katin, Founding artistic Patron, eloquently stated, “The Trinity Music Academy exists to develop students into brilliant musicians, who will also become real individuals and therefore leaders in their chosen subjects.” This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do. Our students are encouraged to explore self-expression, self-discovery, and communication skills, which are vital for building confidence and valuable life skills.

The Academy is renowned for its rigorous standards in teaching and performance. Students are immersed in a rich environment where solo repertoire and chamber music are integral parts of the curriculum. Our teaching staff are outstanding musicians, boasting stunning performing careers as soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians. Each term is highlighted by a robust performance programme that includes masterclasses, performance practice sessions, competitions, and public concerts. Additionally, our strong partnership with the Royal College of Music allows students to interact with senior musicians, offering them unique insights into professional studies and performance.

Every Spring Term, our Orchestra Project combines the forces of the Trinity Music Academy and Croydon Youth Orchestras for an immersive weekend of rehearsals and performance under the guidance of the brilliant conductor, Peter Stark. This offers students the unparallel opportunity to work in a large orchestral setting, experiencing the intensity and demands of high-level preparation and performance, and allowing students the unique opportunity to perform concertos and new compositions.

In line with our commitment to excellence, the Academy boasts state-of-the-art facilities at Trinity School. As London’s first All-Steinway School, Trinity has 25 Steinway Pianos including Concert Grands in all performance spaces. The Concert and Recital Halls provide outstanding performance and recording venues, whilst the soundproof teaching and practice rooms allow students to practice and perfect their craft in an environment free from distractions, ensuring the highest quality of musical development.

We welcome the opportunity to share our passion for music, education and our ambition. Please contact us to arrange an audition or to enquire further.
